According to the dictionary, tantra means 'expansion'. Tantra is also translated as 'loom'. It is a philosophy of life, in which connection and (more) enjoyment of life are central. It uses sexuality and intimacy as a growth process in life and ultimately points the way to enlightenment. For me, tantra is experiencing connection, being aware and feeling freedom.

Connection

The connection with myself in the first place. Becoming aware of what is going on in my own inner world. It makes me aware of boundaries, wishes and desires and I search for words to make these discussable. This means that you too may feel and say what is going on with you. The connection between me and the other person arises where we both feel a 'yes'.

Questions I ask myself to increase the connection with myself:

  • What does this do to me?
  • What do I think about this?
  • How am I feeling right now?
  • How does my body react?
  • What thoughts come to mind?
  • What emotions do I feel?
  • Where is my breath?
  • Where is my curiosity drawn to?

Being Aware and Feeling Freedom

Freedom is another aspect within tantra that I have integrated into my life. The freedom to move as I want, to follow my curiosity, to say 'yes' to my desires and boundaries, but also to say 'no' to the desires of others. Taking responsibility for my own life by living and choosing consciously. Aware of thoughts, patterns and beliefs. So that there is space to choose something different. To allow myself the freedom to experiment, to make mistakes, to have fun.

In my massages this is reflected in the freedom you have on the massage mat. You can move as you wish: turn when you want, place your arms/legs/head differently, lie on your side, make yourself big or small, sit down. You can also use your body as a dog or cat that does and in this way make the finest touch points visible. If thoughts come along that start spinning in your head, speak them out. Not that we have to do anything with them, but that this thought apparently wants to be seen.

Doing what is right and frameworks

Living fully in the moment, because that is where life happens. Doing or saying within that moment what is right. For me, for you. Within the agreed frameworks. These frameworks provide safety, manage expectations, it allows us to search for the 'yes' instead of constantly bumping into the 'no's'.

During our massages and workshops you will notice this for example because we never force you to do anything. For example, you decide for yourself whether you keep your clothes on or take them off, or whether you participate in all structures (completely) in the workshop. With a booked massage it is possible that we first do exercises in advance to get more into the body, or if touch is still difficult.

For whom

My massages are intended for people who:

  • Wanting to get out of their head and into their body
  • Want to experience more connection
  • Enjoying or wanting to learn to enjoy touch again
  • Want to learn to feel boundaries in their bodies
  • To be curious
  • Want to try something different from a regular massage?
  • Wanting to look at shame, fear, pleasure, anger, sadness
  • Want to learn to receive without having to give anything back
  • Want to experience more freedom in their lives
  • Engaged in consciousness development

  • A tantra massage works with life energy. That makes you suddenly feel zest for life again, or just so relaxed that you are suddenly tired and sleep wonderfully again.
